Compassionate City Training
Members of our Compassionate City Crew are integral to ensuring that the New West Hospice Society can bring support where it is needed most. Our Compassionate City Crew volunteers participate in a comprehensive training program before connecting with community members.
In order to deliver the standard of care required for this role, we offer 8 week training sessions that run twice a year for volunteers interested in this role.
Training is delivered in a series of weekly modules.
You will be informed about your intake process after filling out the form below and fulfilling the requirements of this role.
Requirements
- Have maturity, common sense and the ability to be discrete and sensitive
- Understand confidentiality
- Are confident and outgoing, relate well to others and communicate effectively
- Have a good sense of humour
- Are good organizers, can manage paperwork, and are comfortable on the phone
- Understand & maintain personal boundaries
- Have a clean Criminal Record Check and good character references
