Join millions of people in a global generosity movement and support a local non-profit this Giving Tuesday.
Created in 2010, this international day of philanthropy encourages people to do good for their local communities by making an impact where it matters most.
This year, we invite you to donate to the New West Hospice Society.
We understand that 2025 has been a difficult time for a lot of people, with economic struggles and increasing cost of living pressures, we’ve felt the pinch as well. Which is why we are asking for a little from our Compassionate Community as we head into the holiday season.
Supporting local non-profit charities, like the New West Hospice Society, ensures that your money not only stays in your community, but it also goes to supporting us in our mission to make New West a Compassionate City and bring hospice beds back to where our local residents need them most.
Why support the New West Hospice Society?
Here’s some things we accomplished in 2025:
- Provided 20 community workshops normalizing the conversation around death and dying
- Offered alternative ways to grieve through Expressive Art Therapy and our Visual Dialogue on Death & Dying
- 43 educational and outreach events through community engagement
- Presented programming along side 16 community partners (your money isn’t just going to us, but to these community focused endeavours as well)
- 5 meetings with local government and health authorities educating why New West Needs a Hospice

How much impact does my dollar have?
- $25 funds the purchase of art supplies for our many community engagements throughout the year
- $50 covers rental costs allowing us to provide more programming
- $100 allows us to work with more educators and workshop facilitators
- $500 supports our Hospice for the Unhoused at Legion Manor
Here’s the truth, 90% of our funds from donations are earned during our annual RiverWalk which is held every May. By the time we hit December, those funds are well accounted for through supporting the Dialogue on Death & Dying as well as our Summer Outreach and Engagement. Giving $5, $10, or $25 as we head into 2026 allows us to continue our work in the community and gives us the capability to keep up with our programs in the first half of the new year.
Whether you join the 73 other individual residents of New Westminster who have donated already this year, or are supporting us for the first time, we are enormously grateful that you thought of us.
Support the New West Hospice Society this Giving Tuesday!
