NWHS in Action: Partnership with the Rotary Club of New West

On April 16 Co-President Wendy Johnson and Treasurer Murray Ovens met with the Rotary Club of New Westminster.

The NWHS was invited to be their community speaker for this meeting and we were more than grateful for the opportunity to share our story.

The Rotary Club of New Westminster has been supporting our local community since 1928.

Rotary is a global network of more than 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.

The New Westminster chapter has been promoting “Service Over Self” in their community work and in supporting local individuals and organizations. At this April meeting the New West Hospice Society was lucky to be one such organization.

We discussed the history of our organization, the work we are doing in our local community, and extended an invitation for partnership between our organizations.

Thank you Rotary New West for hearing our rally cry “New West Needs a Hospice!”
